caffeine high

so i figured out what makes danielle tick... you know like a time bomb. HA!
she is sooo cute. needs her coffee first thing. like most people do. but she really likes mc donalds iced ones the best... and she gets it jumbo sized with extra "liquid sugar". well then at the gas station, she grabbed 2 large rock stars. i fondly refer to them as her "tweeker drinks". AND! they were all gone by noon. no freaking wonder she is bouncing off the walls! i had no idea the amount of caffeine that girl puts into that tiny body!




and you all thought it was natural!

elvis has left the building!

it took us 15 minutes from graceland to get to arkansas. i had no idea we were that close... we were driving over this really cool bridge, and there it was!


the weather has really been beautiful! its a little chilly, but not far from perfect! the sky has been this beautiful blue, and filled with big fluffy clouds.


like i said, the sun has been out, so as it started to set tonight, i noticed a foot print on the front window... funny mind you till i realized that neither one of us had had bare feet, or our feet on the window... SICK! haha, so who ever left their icky foot funk on our window, please come and retrieve it!




we had stopped to get gas, and little rock was our next big city that we would be running into, we still had a while to go, so we stopped for a potty break, get gas and just stretch our legs... i got some cool pictures of a bunch of random things, while i was waiting fot the gas to be done pumping.... no worries, i was pulling out of the gas station! danielle is banned from having to manipulate tight spaces!









this thing looks safe right?! haha, not a chance... it totally reminds me of something out of a scary movie!

off we go.... again



we have been really blessed with some awesome sunsets! tonights was just as pretty as the one in nashville, just not nearly as pink!




we decided to call it a day, after 500 miles. which wasnt bad considering our rough start. so here we are in fort smith, arkansas. right on the oklahoma border. we had a nice dinner at chilis, and we are off to bed! we are hoping to get quite a bit more driving done tomorrow... we will see :)

off to memphis to see the king!

we are finally back onto the highway around 11. so much for an early start :/ but i am bound and determined to get back on track! we are on I 40 going west to memphis!



we are going to take a little detour to go to graceland, and i am stoked! realistically when will i ever be back this way? and would i forgive myself if i didnt go?! so we drive the 215 miles to visit elvis. we get itno town, and it is unreal, there is elvis presley blvd.



heart break hotel that happens to be on lonely street...



it was too great! not to mention all the shops, and diners and so on. it really was cool.

we get to graceland




and decide that we just want to take some pictures, we dont really need to go in. they wanted alot 38 bucks to go in, and then i couldnt take any of my own pictures. what the crap?! so we went up to the front and parked on the street. i got some pretty awesome pictures!
the fence out front was amazing. borderline overwhelming... it was about 400 feet long, and went all the way across the front of the lawn. at one end it was about 7 feet tall and gradually got shorter twords the other end. i could actually just look over it once you got to the gate. what was so cool about it is that every little square inch of the entire thing was covered in hopes and well wishes, love notes and birthdays, babys named after him, and people who just wanted to pay their respects. layers and layers of ink, paint, crayon, markers, spraypaint, coal, chalk, white out, puff paint and glitter... all of them just wanting to give something. the oldest date i found was 88, but there was so much i couldnt have processed it all.







it was really all i needed. it was an honor just to be there :) HA! anyhow, we snapped some pictures ran into a couple shops and got back on route to where we needed to be. on to arkansas! we shouldnt be too far!

it can always be worse :)

it was sooo pretty this morning when i woke up! it was lightly snowing, but not enough to actually stick. just enough flurries to catch on your eyelashes, but it was just wet when it hit the ground. i went out to catch some snow flakes and look what i caught!



we were all loaded up and off to get gas and find a mc donalds... again! danielle and her coffee! haha. we found a gas station and right across the street were the golden arches calling our names! we started the pump, and ran across the street. danielle orders her x-large coffee carmel mess, and i get some stuff to munch on.



we get our food to go, and run back across the street to finish at the gas station. she puts the gas cap back on, and puts the truck in drive... hold on, cause its all down hill from here :) she pulls up and realizes that she is going to hit the curb with the tires of the trailer we are towing. she keeps pulling forward and bumps the curb... then she says im stuck screw it im going over the curb..... HAHAHAHAHAHA! cause now what happens is she hops the curb and smashes the trailer into the gas pump! so i get out of the truck, and go see what exactly has happened. i have her pull back over the curb again, and untangle her from the pump. both tires on the trailer are flat, and the rims are all splintered up! train wreck! the gas station attendant comes out and moves the truck out of the way and then we call road side services. we were so greatful it was a guy, so with some fluttering of the lashes and the threat of some big ol alligator tears, he was much more concerned with us and the flat tires than he was his munched up gas pump. THANK HEAVENS!



help was on its way, and there wasnt much else for us to do but wait. so we go inside to eat our breakfast. my hands are dirty from playing with the tires, so i set my food down and go wash my hands. i come back, and my food is gone... GONE! some bum stole my breakfast! suckers! i wish i had some cooties to pass along. but i dont. thanks though for leaving me my orange juice!



the fix it guy eventually gets there and finishes up, and we are finally on our way! 2 hours later than planned, but thank goodness nothing blew up!



good bye nashville, and good riddance!

leaving ohio! over kentucky and through tennessee...

today was such a long day!
i set my alarm for 6 am. which i wasnt looking forward to, we didnt go to be till after 2! luckily i didnt need the alarm. my sweet johnny sent me a text message saying he was going to bed. it was 315 am in vegas. what he was doing i have no idea, but he just wanted to say goodnight... i got up and went to wake up danielle, and that wasnt happening. so i went back to sleep for a bit. after getting all our stuff together and in the truck we set off to find the closest gas station. danielle wanted coffee, but there was nothing to be found. i called highway information to see what they knew, and who'd of thought that they would have actually been helpful! thanks to maria for putting us up last night... you are wonderful!














these pictures were taken in wilmington, ohio. there was so much snow! all of danielles stuff had been moved out of her house the night before, so there was nothing for us to sleep on at the house. so we stayed at danielles good friend marias. she had a super cute cozy apartment. we stayed up way too late watching the blue comedy tour! but dang are those guys funny!


this is bobby. i totally picked him up at the gas station :) go me right?! haha! i noticed his work shirt. it was just like mikeys. so i asked him where the harley shop was, and he asked about where we were going and all that stuff. i mentioned mike ran the service department back home, and he asked if we wanted to "swap shirts" so i went and picked one out, he gave it to us, and i promised to send him one back as soon as we got home. he was such a cool guy!



so the plan was to take the 71 south through cincinnati all the way through kentucky then to nashville where we would catch the 40... it kinda happened like that... kinda :)


kentucky was sooo uneventful. and kinda ugly :/ it was mucky and brown, and the sky was super gloomy. there wasnt much to see, and we got kindof bored. thats why you get a picture of danielles grubby feet. there were some way cool icicles hanging off the rocks, and to spice things up we totally rocked out to songs i will never admit i ever listened to! we got a bunch of truckers to honk at us, you know all the dumb stuff you do when trying to hold on to your sanity!

it really got pretty into tennessee. still nothing to see, but the nothing got prettier.



the sunset coming into nashville was the prettiest i have seen in a long time. it was fabulously hot pink! i was in love and took a ton of pictures. this is the only one that even kindof shows you how vibrant it was.



we finally got checked into the hotel, and walked across the street to get some dinner and just enjoy not being in the dang truck. unfortunately it escaped my mind that sunday evening, anywhere other than vegas, is still holy. THERE WAS NOTHING OPEN! dang it! we wandered till we found an irish pub, who not only was open, but were happy to see us! after some delicious potatoe soup and some fantastic fish and chips, we were fed, happy and on our way to bed. god bless the loud rowdy irish folks who know the only thing thats still holy is food :)


so we went window shopping, did i mention nothing was open?! VIVA LAS VEGAS, we have no idea how spoiled we truly are!

mending a soul, healing a heart...

i flew into dayton, ohio today... the first day of a super exciting week! we are hitting the road first thing in the morning! im sooo excited! danielle is good and glad to be moving on. we both cant wait to get on with our adventure! good night all, keep us in your thoughts its gonna be a long drive! love yous... jenny and danielle ♥




after having some yummy pizza with some good friends, we went back to the house to make sure all loose ends were tied up. we actually loaded up the car onto the dolly and secured it ourselves! go us! we will see if it ends up in the middle of the highway tomorrow.... watch for us on the news! hahaha...
